About ACRAD

ACRAD: is a joint-partnership consultancy non-governmental organization based in Sefwi Juaboso focused on the empowerment of individuals and communities in rural areas to chart for their own developmental needs. Its primary aim is to sustainably bridge the socio-economic development gap between deprived rural communities/individuals and urban folks by supporting processes of empowerment and self-determination.

Our Basic Approach: To work with communities and individuals in groups to help them build their awareness of their condition, discover options and opportunities, then act to bring about transformation in their present situation.

Our Vision: To see a society where individuals/communities are equipped with the skills and knowledge to explore all the opportunities around them to improve their communities as well as their livelihoods regardless of their location, sex, race, ethnicity, etc.

Our Mission 1: To accelerate development in deprived and less privileged communities and individuals by serving as a catalyst/linkage between them and available opportunities/resources.  

Our Mission 2: To sustainably bridge the socio-economic development gap between deprived and less privileged rural communities/individuals and their urban folks by supporting processes of empowerment and self-determination.

The organization works with government, non-government and private organizations in equipping less privileged and deprived communities and individuals in areas of:

Paa Kwame Akrasi-Gyapong -Programmes Director

Paa Kwame is an experienced Programme Director with a specialization in Food Security, Community Development, Gender, Livelihood, Policy Analysis, and Environment.  He has supported, managed, and supervised several development projects in Ghana and has over a decade of experience in managing donor funded projects from Mondelez International, USAID, World Vision, UNDP etc. He is passionate about women empowerment and financial inclusion.

Charles Akwasi Okrah- Operations Director

Charles holds an MSc. in Development Management and a BSc. in Agriculture (Agriculture Economics and Farm Management) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He has enormous experience in community development with expertise in climate smart agriculture, multi stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation, project planning, and implementation. He has worked with International NGO’s such as CARE International and World Vision International, and other government agencies and possesses enormous experience in the field of agroforestry and food security and resilience, community development, financial inclusion and sustainable livelihoods. He is a steadfast supporter of the inclusion and empowerment of the rural poor especially women and children.

Paul Akuamoah Boateng- Grants and Support Services Director

Paul specializes in Project Coordination and Grants Acquisition. He has enormous experience in developing strategies to maintain and secure funding from donors and cultivating smooth donor relationships. He is highly skilled in creating high-quality, persuasive proposals and reports and has consulted for various organizations including Legal Aid Ghana and the Northern Resource Centre for Persons with Disabilities. He is passionate about climate change, child protection, and disability rights. His notable work has been on Small Project Fund, Green Peoples’ Energy for Africa (GiZ), International Service UK (DFID), Bicycle Education Empowerment Programme (World Bicycle Relief).
